What is Texas Craft Spirits?

Texas Craft Spirits are small batch alcoholic drinks like gin, bourbon, whiskey, rum, and vodka. These drinks are fermented, distilled, and aged in Texas. Like most Texas Craft Spirits are distilled with the grain to glass philosophy by using grains local to Texas. The heat in Texas also makes these craft spirits special and different. The heat makes the liquid rapidly expand and contract which speeds up the aging process in the barrels and brings out bold flavors.

What is Maverick Distilling’s History?

Maverick Distilling was created by an ancestor of Sam Maverick. Sam Maverick is known as being a well respected man who would independently and differently from others. He was elected to represent San Antonio in the new republic of Texas and he signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. Sam Maverick cheated death and was known as living life to the fullest. He would not brand his cows like everyone else. He did not let anyone dictate his actions and was unapologetically himself.

How Does Maverick Distilling Create Their Texas Craft Spirit?

The Maverick Spirit is what Maverick Distilling lives by. They do not let anyone dictate their actions and control their choices. They like to be “unbranded” and try new things. Maverick Distilling focuses on intentional decisions that influence the character of every bottle from grain selection and yeast strains to barrel entry proof and aging conditions such as their Texas Bourbon. Their Private Reserve Texas Bourbon is crafted with Texas grown grains and aged in historical bank vaults beneath our distillery. Maverick Distilling is expanding the boundaries and is working on new collaborations such as the limited time Expedition Series
